Suicune may be “cool” but Garbodor is clearly more imaginative than any nondescript mammaloid with some doohickeys on it.

Garbodor is a decomposing zombie-like heap of human refuse with a partially exposed scrap metal skeleton, a mask formed from the tattered skin of its unevolved form and an overall design that humorously parodies Totoro. It forms a “land pollution” counterpart to Muk and Weezing’s water and air pollution concepts, and despite being a horrifying, unnatural monstrosity it’s still as comical and cute as any other Pokemon.

I have actively wanted a Pokemon made of garbage since the very first generation, not to mention more Pokemon with ghoulish, unnatural concepts. For me, Garbodor is a massive step UP for the franchise and one of its most endearing designs ever.

There are several hundred pokemon that look like sleek, “bad ass” mammals, birds and dragons. How the hell can anybody look at humorous, fanciful creatures like Garbodor or Vanilluxe and think they’re anything other than an improvement over the usual repetition?

Furries. :T If they can’t anthropomorphize something and fap over it…
